Scissor Skills Busy Basket

Providing your child with lots of opportunities to develop their fine motor skills strengthens their muscles in the hands and prepares them for using scissors.


Nature Cutting: Go on a nature hunt and forage items. Then have your child either cut or tear the items.



Lots of Lines Cutting: On a piece of paper draw different lines (swirls, zig zags, waves, loops, etc.) Then have your child attempt to cut those lines.



Cutting Hair: Take recycled paper tubes, draw a face, different types of lines (straight, squiggles, zig zags) and have your child cut the hair.
